Nobody wants to find themselves sitting in a police car. That is, of course, unless they own that police car. But believe it or not, that is a possibility for the average driver.
When police agencies upgrade to new cruisers, they don't just ditch their old ones on the side of the highway. Instead, they sell them to places like Copcarsonline, where for 24 years, Florida-based Jon Woodhouse has been refurbishing and selling former law-enforcement vehicles.
Most of Woodhouse's buyers are smaller p...
On June 3, 1941, 10 prospective police women began their training at the New Zealand Police Academy.
They were recruited through advertisements "for single and widowed ladies", were banned from driving police cars and had to resign if they wanted to marry.
Women now account for over 30 per cent of police staff.

Hundreds of police cars all under one roof – if you’re part of the criminal fraternity, it’s the stuff of nightmares, but for the rest of us, it’s an amazing insight into how police forces choose and buy their new cars. We visited the National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM) 2016 motor show to see what a motorshow for police officers is really like.
The undoubted star of the 2016 NAPFM exhibition is Ford’s remarkable police-liveried Mustang. Decked out in the very same h...

I met a group of mostly retired NYPD police officers recent...

Hi all
Not sure if you are aware of this but a new law is coming into effect on 1 November that allows anybody to get your name and address just by supplying your licence plate number. You can opt out from this by visiting the NZ Transport Authority website and going through a few forms. You will need your driver’s licence to proceed. I’m a bit concerned that someone can see you driving down the road, in your nice car, set...

The collection includes teddy bears, badges, a range of model police vehicles and caps from Poland, Germany, South Africa, Arge...

Amid growing anger in Russia over state officials and businessmen using special sirens on their cars to flout traffic regulations, the country's Parliament is considering a law that would drastically restrict their use.
The flashing blue lights, or migalki as they are known in Russian, are the bane of ordinary motorists, especially in the capital.
Driving at high speed down the wrong side of the road, whizzing through Moscow's notorious traffic jams while ambulances an...
In 1968 the first of the grey Police cars arrive and the Police vehicles remained grey , with a single red flashing light until 1978, when the new style patrol cars rolled out with the dual blue flashing lights.
The blue flashing lights was a departure from the conventional emergency vehicles in that Police cars do not have sirens.
It was important, therefore, for police cars to be able to be visually seen in heavy traffic and not to be confused with numerous brake & indicator flashing lights...

What’s more, our featured fire appliance does actually get used by ...
